Acha Bacha was born in 2007, with the
intention of bringing high quality natural products to
the children’s industry. The entire Acha Bacha line is
organically grown and manufactured in India and
distributed in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Co-owners, Sada Sat
Simran and Gurudas, grew up in India while attending
boarding school. Living in a third world country and
being immersed in the local culture and language has
given them a unique perspective on how foreign business
affects India. In a world where profit often drives
companies to make decisions which do not serve the best
interest of the countries they operate in, Acha Bacha is
resolutely committed to community and environmental
stewardship.
Sada Sat Simran and Gurudas decided to
start a business that is conscious of the world they’re
living in. This is a principle taught to them from a
young age by their spiritual teacher Yogi Bhajan. He
taught them that a conscious business honors an exchange
through integrity and a willingness to serve a higher
purpose because when character is lost, everything is
lost.
Sada Sat Simran has done extensive research on farming
issues in India. In college he made a documentary
exposing how greed through the over use of fertilizers
is ruining the soil and how high interest rate loans are
impoverishing farmers. Additionally, Gurudas is a
seasoned creative designer specializing in organic
textiles and natural materials.
As consumers, we have the opportunity to buy products
that help make our world a better place. Acha Bacha
provides great products while fostering sustainable
business practices to preserve the environment in India
and across the world.
